Opening day is finally here and it is time for my bold predictions for the 2022 season.
Baltimore Orioles
The O’s actually win 60 games. I kid, I kid. Jorge Mateo is the next Cedric Mullins Lite by hitting 15 HR and 40 SB.
Boston Red Sox
With their lack of pitching, they end up in 4th in the east, but Rafael Devers hits 50 homer runs.
New York Yankees
The Yankees end up with 8 players that hit 25 homers.
Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays keep up their low payroll magic and make it to the world series.
Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays have 1 player hit 50 home runs and 2 more hit 40.
Chicago White Sox
Although heavy favorites to win the division, the White Sox do not win it. Injuries and lack of depth at starting pitching are their downfall.
Cleveland Guardians
With fewer pitchers reaching 200 innings, the guardians have 3 pitchers cross the 200 mark.
Detroit Tigers
Headed by their youth and Cy Young contender Tarik Sukbal, the Tigers win the division.
Kansas City Royals
Adalberto Mondesi stays healthy and passes 20/60
Minnesota Twins
Byron Buxton stays healthy and wins the MVP.
Houston Astros
Hector Neris leads the team in saves after Pressly goes down with a knee injury.
Los Angeles Angels
Mike Trout stays healthy and plays 150 games helping lead the Angels to the playoffs. He ends up doubling the number of post season games he has played in (3).
Oakland Athletics
AJ Puk leads the team in saves after Lou Trivino gets traded.
Seattle Mariners
The Mariners win the West and fall 1 game short of making it to the World Series. Eugenio Suarez figures out what broke and hits .255.
Texas Rangers
People remember that Willie Calhoun was once a top prospect and leads the team with 34 homers.
